Barcelona, Spain shot by Trujillo/Paumier for Afar Magazine

Afar Magazine commissioned Joaquin Trujillo and Brian Paumier to shoot fishermen in Barcelona, Spain for the cover of their December/January issue, out on newsstands now.

We caught up with Joaquin Trujillo for a few words about the shoot:

“When Afar called us to do a shoot about hot semi-naked fisher men in Barcelona, Spain, I thought, OK I’m game.  Barcelona is a compact city.  Their siesta happens at 4 in the morning, at least at the Rambla (a street in the center of the city popular among tourists).  When the tourists were going to bed,  we were getting up to do our shoots.  Walking through the city at 5am was surreal, like we went back in time.  (Cont’d…)

“Barcelonians know how to enjoy life, from relishing a sunny Sunday at beach to a Zarzuela dinner and drinks.  We were lucky to shoot that week because most business owners were closing down for 3 weeks for summer vacation.  What I got from this amazing shoot was a reinforcement of what I love to do,  especially as I meet and shoot people that love what they do.   Spaniards just know how to do it semi-naked and enjoy there lives.
